New "Headlights On" Requirement in Pennsylvania New Pennsylvania law requiring motorists to turn on headlights when their wipers are on begins today. Not particularly applicable to motorcycles but still something you should know.On Monday, Jan. 29, Pennsylvania will join the list of states requiring motorists to turn on their headlights when their windshield wipers are in use. Under the law, motorists will be required to have their headlights on any time their wipers are in continuous or intermittent use due to weather conditions. The new law makes a violation a primary offense, meaning motorists can be cited without being in violation of any other traffic laws. Failure to comply will carry a $25 fine, but fees and other administrative costs may bring the fine closer to $100 Thank you for permitting me to bring this information to you. Ride Safely! |
